BREAKING NEWS

Message from Diana Van Dyke, LACCRA President

We are all watching the development of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic with feelings of concern and uncertainty. We hope you are all safe and healthy. We have dedicated a page to the LACCRA Website to offer Breaking News. We will update the Breaking News page as we receive developments.

In response to the current situation and in recognition of the purposes of the association, specifically in protecting the professional status and economic welfare of its members, LACCRA will continue to disseminate communications from our presiding judge and other authorities as needed.

We want to reiterate that while we realize that some of us are annoyed with the feeling of being inundated with all of the discussion of this situation and maybe even feel like it's an overreaction, there are possibly just as many of us that are feeling inundated with worry for ourselves and our loved ones.

Additionally, for the health and wellbeing of LACCRA members, instructors, and community in general, LACCRA decided to postpone its March 28th E-Filing Seminar. LACCRA's office is a remote setting and has full capabilities of serving our members. If you would like to contact LACCRA's Board of Directors, please email [email protected].

As of this writing,  we do not yet know the Court's plans for courtroom staffing of the essential functions to be provided during this time of scaled back services by the Court. We can assume that at least some of our members will be present in these courtrooms.  If you find yourself working under these unprecedented conditions, LACCRA would encourage you to be mindful of recommendations offered by the professionals knowlegable on these subjects.  We've listed a couple of those links below.

Thank you for your understanding and unwavering support as we navigate this rapidly changing situation together.

Please stay healthy and safe,
Diana Van Dyke
